The Fields

The Dog Walking Field

The main difference between the two fields is that this one has farm animals in neighbouring fields.

This provides a rare opportunity to safely get dogs used to other animals. There is a chicken run next to it. The hens are used to the dogs, and take no notice of being barked at. In another neighbouring field, there could be horses, shetland ponies or alpacas. Some are oblivious to the dogs, others interact and playfully run alongside the fence with the dogs.

When dogs first use this field, they may be more interested in the animals, than taking exercise. After a few visits, the other animals are no longer of interest.

There is a shelter with a picnic table for those rainy days. Other picnic tables are placed around the field, where hedges and trees provide shade throughout the day.

Agility equipment and tree trunks provide enrichment for your dogs.

For hot days, and dogs that enjoy water, there is a paddling pool.

The Dog Park

The Dog Park rarely has livestock in the fields next to it. If you are concerned about your dogs reaction to livestock, the Dog Park may be more suitable.

There are trees in the park, which provide shade on hot days. There is a large shelter with picnic tables. There is agility equipment and a paddling pool for enrichment.

Both the field and the park have:

The Fencing

The fences around both fields is 5ft 10inches or 158 cm high, very strong and checked daily. High enough to to keep in the most athletic of dogs. In the lower part of the fence the holes are only 4 inches or 10cm square, which should prevent the even smallest dogs from escaping.
